Supervisor Elsbernd's Ballot Proposition: Supervisor Sean Elsbernd's ballot measure would change the manner in which the Muni drivers' compensation is established. Currently driver salaries are set via a formula embedded in San Francisco's City Charter. If the measure is approved by the San Francisco voters next November 2nd, the salary issue will be removed from the Charter, leaving the establishment of wage levels to the normal collective bargaining process.
At its general meeting on July 19th, SaveMuni.com voted to take no position on the measure.
Community Congress:
On August 14th and 15th (mark your calendars), the San Francisco Information Clearing House (SFIC) and other groups are sponsoring a Community Congress, which will be held in the University of San Francisco's Fromm Hall.
